Condo Bathroom
PROJECT DETAILS
Remodel Type: Kitchen
Design Style: Contemporary
Clients Favorite Part: Marble Counters
BEFORE CONDITIONS
- Dated finishes
- Shallow tub was not conducive to long relaxing soaks
- Linen closet by doorway took up large portion of the footprint and made the room feel even narrower
- Tiny vanity offered no counter space
- Fiberglass shower surround was uninspiring
DESIGN SOLUTIONS
- Contemporary finishes that tie together the bathroom with the updated finishes in the rest of the house
- New deep tub with a mix of glass and ceramic tile surround offers a relaxing place to soak away their stress
- Removed linen closet and converted the space into an extension of the vanity, wrapping around a section of wall that needed to remain for venting
- Deep vanity drawers provide more storage than the previous configuration
THE DETAILS
- Lined the opening below the upper linen cabinet in the same marble as the counters to create a little jewel box
- Wrapped shower wall field tile around past the toilet to serve as the backsplash for the sink

About Colleen

I live in Minneapolis with my landscape architect/urban designer husband, my daughter who believes sheβs my design assistant and sous chef, an independent Siamese, a feisty grey-striped kitten, and a menagerie of turkeys and other wild animals who visit our backyard for the free food. When Iβm not designing, youβll often find me cooking up a Paleo feast, cheering for my daughter's volleyball team, playing pickleball, or hiding in a corner with my nose in a book.
