A dated kitchen gets a bold new chapter rooted in classic Midcentury style. We opened up the layout, reimagined the flow, and layered in warm walnut, terrazzo, and brass for a soulful space that finally reflects the rest of this DIY-savvy couple’s home. Furniture-like details, a hidden coffee bar, and louvered walnut dividers bring both function and flair.
This remodel began with a creative couple who had already renovated much of their home, but knew they needed expert help to bring their disjointed kitchen in line with their Midcentury vision. The original layout was oddly configured, with double garage entrances, heavy soffits, and awkward traffic patterns. Our design opened the space to breathe, improved circulation, and brought the kitchen into harmony with the rest of the home.
From custom walnut cabinetry and brass hardware to terrazzo tile flooring and a hidden coffee bar, every detail was designed with intention. We added functional beauty through display shelves for their vintage Pyrex, an elevated furniture-style island with Midcentury style feet, and louvered walnut dividers that frame the dining room in warmth. It’s now a space that blends iconic Midcentury design with practical flow, ready for both daily ease and their many extended family gatherings.
